Easy Marshmallow Fondant Recipe

DIY fondant is so simple to make that you only need three ingredients. Four if you count the food coloring. Two if you consider that the Crisco is only to keep things from sticking. I have powdered sugar and vegetable shortening but I’m fresh out of marshmallows. I just used them all to make marshmallow shot glasses. I don’t regret that decision but I do need to head to the store to stock up on some more so I can make this fondant. It’s the perfect recipe!

There are a couple of wonderful video tutorials and I watched every second of them! I suggest you do the same and read every instruction! Making fondant is a lot like baking bread. It’s time consuming but worth it in the end. There is a lot of kneading. When making this be sure to take your time. There are a lot of variables that go into homemade fondant. (Who knew?) Climate, temperature, consistency, etc. Also don’t forget your apron! This is a messy and sticky treat. Here is another fondant recipe from Allrecipes.com. Slightly different but no less delicious. Yum.
