Before & After, DIY

Using Simple Materials, He Transformed His Dining Room. You’ll Be Amazed By What He Created.

Sometimes we all want to change up things in our home, and you’ll be amazed at the transformation of this dining room. It was outdated, with a table that didn’t match the space. It also only held seating for six and this family wanted more room for guests. First step was getting rid of the aforementioned dining table and chairs! Once they were out of the way, construction of the bench could start. He started with horizontal and vertical supports and put these supports along two walls. The seat of the bench was plywood, cut to fit perfectly. To ensure comfort, foam is added on top of the plywood. To make cleanup easier, the seat was covered in waterproof outdoor fabric. Pulled tight and stapled onto the plywood, the seat took shape beautifully! The next step was bead board with a hole cut out for the air vent. The next step was to paint it, and add some trim! Now came the fun part! Adding a custom made table completed the logistics. The decorating really pulled the room together. Some table accents and throw pillows update the room to a modern and stylish place. Gone is the boring table with limited seating, and no room for visitors. What webpage now is a stylish booth with seating for up to 15, if chairs are fed to the open end. The bench seating really is a smart idea in any room, but especially a smaller space. It affords the extra seating needed for entertaining. It looks beautiful and relevant. I love a DIY project and I really think this one will be my next weekend endeavor! I am impressed by how easy it is to a makeover such as this! When you see the pictures, you’ll be amazed at the transformation of this dining room.
